Fumatori più esposti all’HIV

Una nuova ricerca fa tremare i fumatori. Infatti, oltre ad essere maggiormente esposti a malattie dell’apparato respiratorio sarebbero anche più esposti a contrarre il virus dell’HIV. I ricercatori hanno basato la loro analisi su sei studi che associavano il fumo al rischio di contrarre la malattia. Cinque di essi hanno avvalorato questa tesi e l’aumento riscontrato sarebbe del 60% rispetto ai non fumatori. Come controprova ci sarebbero altri dieci studi, nove dei quali smentirebbero il risultato precedentemente ottenuto. In ogni caso è stato confermato che il fumo rende le persone più vulnerabili a sviluppare delle infezioni al sistema immunitario.
